Manglik (Maṅgal Doṣa)
A condition where Mars sits in certain houses, said to affect marriage — often cancelled by other factors.
What it means
A chart is called Manglik when Mars occupies the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 7th, 8th or 12th house (counted from the Lagna, and often the Moon and Venus too). Tradition links it to friction in marriage, but there are many recognised cancellations, and a Manglik–Manglik match is said to neutralise it. It is one factor, not a barrier.
