Terms & Conditions

The agreement between you and jothi.sh, covering the website and the iOS and Android apps: what the service is and is not, what you may do with it, plans and refunds, and the limits of our responsibility.

1. Who this agreement is between

These Terms are an agreement between you and [[LEGAL ENTITY OR PROPRIETOR NAME — owner to supply]], [[REGISTERED ADDRESS — owner to supply]], which operates jothi.sh. By creating an account or using the service you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use jothi.sh.

2. For guidance and entertainment — not professional advice

Read this section even if you read nothing else.

Astrology has no established scientific basis. Everything jothi.sh produces — charts, panchāṅga, compatibility scores, forecasts, muhūrta timings, remedies and advisor answers — is offered for guidance, reflection, cultural interest and entertainment. Outcomes are not predicted, promised, assured or guaranteed.

jothi.sh is not medical, psychological, legal, financial or investment advice, and it is not a diagnosis, a treatment, a prognosis or a professional service of any kind. Nothing here treats or cures anything. The "remedies" the app describes — gemstones, mantras, charitable acts — are traditional cultural practices presented as such, and are not represented as having any medical or curative effect.

Decisions about your health, your money, your legal position, your relationships or your safety should be made with a qualified professional. If our output and a professional disagree, follow the professional. Your decisions remain yours.

We describe our calculations honestly: the astronomical engine is deterministic and its methods are documented, and where a method is approximate or disputed we say so on the page. Accuracy of calculation is not a claim about the meaning of anything calculated.

3. Wellbeing, and what the advisor will refuse

Some questions should not be answered by an astrology app, and ours does not answer them. The first three below are hard refusals in the software, not merely policy — the question never reaches a model at all:

It will not predict the timing of death or the length of your life. Ask, and you get a considered non-answer, with no AI involved at all.
It will not give medical, legal or financial directives. Those questions are redirected to the appropriate kind of human help.
If you appear to be in crisis, the app sets everything else aside and points you toward real support. This overrides every other behaviour.
The model may only narrate what our engine computed. It is instructed never to calculate or invent chart data, and every answer is checked automatically afterwards — for catastrophising language, and for claims the engine did not support. To be precise about what that last check is and is not: answers are streamed to you as they are written, so the check runs after you have read the answer. It does not block or alter what you saw. What it does is flag the answer to us and stop it being stored or shown to anyone else.

4. If you are in distress

If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, please contact your local emergency number or a crisis helpline right now. A chart cannot carry this, and a person can. Nothing in this app is a substitute for that call.

5. Your account

You must be old enough to form a binding contract where you live — generally 18 — to hold an account.
You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping your sign-in secure. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has access.
Access is currently limited while the product is in private testing, and new sign-ups may need approval. We may approve or decline an account at our discretion.
You may save a birth profile for someone else only if you have their consent, or, for a child, if you are their parent or legal guardian or have a guardian's consent.
You can close your account at any time — see /delete-account. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these Terms, abuses the service, or puts others at risk.

6. Acceptable use

Please do not:

use jothi.sh to break the law, or to harass, deceive or endanger anyone;
present our output as a professional service — as medical, legal or financial advice, or as a certainty;
scrape, resell or automate access outside our published API and its limits, or try to defeat rate limits, quotas or security;
upload another person's birth details without their consent;
attempt to extract our prompts, models or internal tooling, or to make the advisor produce content it is designed to refuse.

7. Your content and ours

Your profiles, your questions and your saved conversations remain yours. You grant us only the permission needed to run the service for you — to store, encrypt, process and display them to you. We do not claim ownership and we do not sell them.

The output computed for you is yours to use for personal purposes: read it, print it, share it. The software, the engine, the interface, the text, the design and the name jothi.sh remain ours, and no rights in them transfer to you.

If you send us feedback or press 👍/👎 on an answer, you allow us to use that submission to improve the service and our models, as described in section 7 of the Privacy Policy.

8. The free tier, advertising and rewarded ads

Charts, panchāṅga, compatibility, muhūrta and the daily tools are free and unmetered. The AI advisor is metered on the free tier.
The free tier may show advertising. Paid plans are ad-free — that is the upgrade.
Advertising is non-personalised unless you explicitly opt in, and your birth data is never used to target it. See section 8 of the Privacy Policy.
Watching a rewarded ad is always optional and always your choice; it grants a small, capped amount of extra advisor use. Nothing in the app requires you to enable tracking, notifications or location in order to use it or to receive anything.

9. Paid plans, billing and refunds

What you get. Paid plans raise usage limits and remove advertising. The price, the billing period and what is included are shown before you buy, in your local currency where we can.
Auto-renewal. Unless it is a one-time purchase, a plan renews automatically at the end of each period at the then-current price until you cancel. For recurring card and UPI payments in India this is set up as an RBI e-mandate, with the pre-debit notification and per-transaction limits that framework requires.
Cancelling. Cancel at any time from your account settings, or from the payment provider or the store you bought through. Cancellation stops the next renewal; your plan runs to the end of the period you have already paid for, then reverts to free. There is no cancellation fee.
Refunds. Subscriptions are billed in advance and are generally non-refundable for the current period once it has begun, except where your local consumer law says otherwise. If you were charged in error or twice, or a paid feature was materially unavailable, write to [[PRIVACY & SUPPORT EMAIL — owner to supply]] within 7 days and we will review it and refund what is due to the original payment method.
Bought through an app store. If you purchased inside the iOS or Android app, Apple or Google took the payment: your subscription is managed and cancelled in that store's account settings, and refunds are handled under that store's policy, not this one.
Price changes. We may change prices or what a plan includes. For an active auto-renewing subscription we will give reasonable advance notice, the change applies only from your next renewal, and you may cancel before then.
Downgrades. On cancelling or downgrading, higher-tier allowances drop to the lower tier at the end of the paid period. Work already generated — saved charts, downloaded PDFs — stays yours.

10. If you use the iOS or Android app

You must also comply with the rules of the store you installed from, and with any usage rules its terms impose.
Apple and Google are not parties to this agreement. They are not responsible for the app or its content, and they provide no warranty or support for it — we do, at [[PRIVACY & SUPPORT EMAIL — owner to supply]].
Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms for the iOS app and may enforce them against you.
You confirm you are not located in a country subject to a relevant embargo, and that you are not on a prohibited-parties list.
You can delete your account from inside the app — see section 10 of the Privacy Policy — and also from /delete-account on the web.

11. Availability and changes

We aim to keep jothi.sh available, but it is provided as a service that can change: features may be added, altered or withdrawn, and the service may be unavailable for maintenance, third-party failure or reasons outside our control. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation.

We may impose reasonable limits to keep the service affordable and available, and may suspend accounts that abuse it.

12. Warranties and liability

The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent the law allows — including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, nor for lost profits, lost opportunities or lost data, nor for any decision you make in reliance on anything jothi.sh produces. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability to you is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or the equivalent of a nominal sum in your local currency.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited — including for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence. If your local consumer-protection law gives you rights that cannot be waived, nothing in these Terms takes them away.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by [[GOVERNING LAW AND COURTS — owner to supply]].

Before starting formal proceedings, please write to [[PRIVACY & SUPPORT EMAIL — owner to supply]] — most problems are a misunderstanding and we would rather fix them. If you are a consumer, this does not affect your right to bring proceedings in the courts of your own country of residence where your local law gives you that right.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. The version and date at the top of this page tell you which text is current, and material changes will be announced in the app. Continuing to use jothi.sh after a change means you accept it; if you do not, you may close your account at any time.

If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
